This Opportunity
 

Our London office is seeking an Associate to join our Real Estate Private Equity team within the Portfolio & Asset Management group. This is a key role for a highly analytical and commercially minded individual with strong Excel modelling skills and a proven understanding of real estate investment and asset management. The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of assets and strategies, supporting performance at both the fund and asset level, while contributing to the strategic direction of our investments across the UK and Europe.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage several real estate investments and perform portfolio management workstreams across various Heitman-managed funds and separate accounts
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze portfolio- and asset-level financial models to evaluate performance and support decision-making
  • Evaluate value-add initiatives across the portfolio, including scenario analysis on tenant proposals, hold/sell analysis and debt re-structuring. Assist with the preparation of approval papers
  • Provide ad-hoc portfolio-level information and analysis to key stakeholders and investors
  • Work with the wider team to produce quarterly reports, annual business plans and budgets (with interim updates), and portfolio performance for senior management and stakeholders
  • Oversee the execution of leasing strategies, capital expenditure plans, and value creation initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the value and performance of real estate assets through strategic initiatives and operational improvements
  • Monitor and manage third-party property managers and joint venture partners
  • Maintain accurate records of portfolio-level activities and performance metrics
  • Support the external valuation process and review third-party appraisals
  • Support and improve portfolio management processes
  • Prepare materials for investment committees, senior management, and investors, ensuring clarity, accuracy and a high level of attention to detail

 

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in real estate portfolio/asset management, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Argus experience is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders is a plus
