Emi is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Investment Research at Heitman. She is an equity owner of the firm. Emi leads the firm’s global research teams, overseeing investment strategy development, underwriting for all private equity and debt investments, and portfolio construction recommendations based on economic, capital market, and property sector trends. She sits on the firm’s Global Management Committee, North American Private Equity Investment Committee, and North American Valuation Committee. Additionally, Emi analyzes demographic and technological trends and their impact on real estate investment strategy and portfolio construction. Previously, Emi was the Co-Head of Global Investment Research at Heitman.

Emi received a BA with honors in Urban Studies from Stanford University. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute Global Exchange Council, Stanford Alumni Real Estate Council, the NAIOP Chicago Board, and the Japanese American Service Committee Housing Corporation Board of Directors.
