Job Description

Our Chicago office is seeking a Vice President to manage the debt negotiation and closing process for U.S. real estate acquisitions and loan originations. 

The responsibilities of a Vice President include, but are not limited to:

  • Negotiating and closing commercial real estate loans as a borrower or lender, including lines of credit, both senior and subordinate loan structures such as B notes and mezzanine notes, intercreditor/co-lender agreements, note on note financings, and preferred equity investments. 
  • Coordinate due diligence reviews and closing through title and escrow.
  • Read, analyze, and summarize legal documents.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external parties including borrowers, lenders, attorneys, and title company representatives during all phases of loan closing.
  • Work and coordinate with internal constituents including the debt origination and servicing team, the acquisition team, portfolio management and accounting, and senior management.


  • Minimum 5 years of real estate experience
  • Minimum 3 years of negotiating and closing senior and subordinate loan transactions preferred
  • Degree in Law or Business
  • Detailed knowledge of both construction and bridge loan products including senior and subordinate loan structures
  • Strong reading comprehension, critical thinking, and problem solving skill sets required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to prioritize projects in an effective manner
  • Communicate effectively, keeping managers informed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
