Working closely with the executives of the Client Service & Marketing team, this role will facilitate sales enablement through the collection, analysis, and reporting of client data, industry trends, and progress against business objectives.  With the help of technology and advanced analytics, the aim of the role is to inform business strategy and increase overall sales productivity.

The development and tracking of key performance indicators are critical to enhance the understanding of the business and improve decision making. Considering current economic conditions, asset flows and industry trends are also important inputs to achieving a complete understanding of achievement against business objectives.

The Business Analyst will create both standardized and custom reports, as well as conduct quantitative product and sales analysis. Over time the Business Analyst will develop standardized methodologies and business processes aimed at improving operational efficiency and driving higher levels of productivity.

The responsibilities of a Global Business Analyst, Client Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with sales leadership to understand client needs and key sales objectives; align programs to these goals
  • Develop and maintain reporting systems and dashboards for the sales team and leadership to measure program success, and drive accountability and engagement
  • Regularly update key stakeholders on campaign plans, program deliverables, and schedules
  • Continually track and report on campaign and program metrics, conduct ROI analysis to determine the effectiveness of all marketing programs, and optimize campaign efforts accordingly
  • Proactively identify and facilitate opportunities for sales process improvement
  • As a power user of the firms CRM (Salesforce), develop tools to drive adoption across the firm, generate weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports; socialize reports to wider Heitman audience
  • Monitor the sales organization's compliance with required standards for maintaining data
  • Provide marketing operations support to client outreach campaigns and event organization (i.e. annual fund meetings, virtual seminars, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance and assist management in developing and reviewing the sales budget and rolling sales forecast including sales to budget variance analysis
  • Become the resident expert in key systems and databases such as Preqin, PublicPlan IQ, Institutional Investors’ MIN and develop processes and procedures to efficiently leverage databases to identify opportunities for sales team and improve sales outcomes

 We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of investment management marketing, client management, or sales experience
  • An analytical thinker, who is execution and detail oriented, eager to learn and to remain current with evolving investment techniques and changing markets
  • Strategic aptitude with an ability to understand the detail and identify strategic opportunities to leverage information
  • Strong communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing; comfortable in business and technical discussions
  • Strong collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker
  • Creative problem-solver with an ability to identify gaps in current technical functionality
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Self-learner that can learn to use new technologies with minimal guidance to meet evolving needs
  • Strong knowledge of MS office application
  • BA in business related field, MBA preferred
Industry Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the institutional real estate business and client base and good knowledge of the asset management business.
  • Appreciation of Investment Management industry sales processes / business methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Industry trends and understanding of the US regulatory environment.
  • Competitor knowledge, including strengths and weaknesses and product range a plus.
