Job Description

Heitman is in search of a high performing individual who will be dedicated to supporting several strategic sales channels and, ultimately, improve the client experience! The AVP will be part of the Client Service & Sales Support Team providing day-to-day support to the strategic relationship management team with a focus on supporting senior sales professionals in the Asia-Pacific region.

This position will provide end-to-end support and help the team deliver a distinctive client experience across Heitman’s private equity real estate, public securities and private real estate debt solutions. In addition to providing sales and client support to colleagues, this role will also work collaboratively with other colleagues across the firm on a variety of projects (e.g. annual North American Investor Conference).

The candidate will need to be knowledgeable on the investment business and related investment products as well as have a collaborative orientation and a tenacious demeanor to ensure we swiftly meet client requests and handle new business development opportunities. A successful candidate will be a goal-oriented professional who brings a strong interest in developing institutional relationships and possesses a “can do” service attitude. The ability to be proactive, organized and results oriented will be essential to success.

The responsibilities of an Assistant Vice President include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate materials and quarterback onsite client meetings, including meeting follow-up as required
  • Tenacious, timely follow through on requests and projects originating from the Asia Pacific region
  • Assist with initial prospect qualification and preparation of briefing documents
  • Assist in the preparation of roadshows with key investment personnel visiting the region
  • Track prospect development and serve as an expert for the firm’s CRM on clients and prospects
  • Conduct market and competitor research; monitor news and industry developments
  • Serve as a liaison with the communications team to ensure effective and efficient rollout of key white papers and other collateral
  • Partner with members of the Client Service & Marketing Team to meet with existing clients and determine areas of opportunity for cross sales
  • Collaborate with senior team members to tier and systematically cover a defined list of clients
  • Assist with coordinating client/prospect events both overseas and in the US
  • Field client calls as required
  • Catalyst to achieving annual financial revenue and AUM targets
  • Assist with development and execution of “Key Client Growth Plans” for the firm’s largest, most strategic client relationships from the region
  • Coordinate client relationship review meetings; participate as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years of asset management marketing, client management of sales experience
  • Excellent listening and analytical skills with clients
  • Evidence of working closely with teams to influence colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – clear and organized thinking, an engaging personal style
  • Strong interpersonal skills - high energy, creative, enthusiastic, results oriented
  • Detail oriented, eager to learn and to remain current with evolving investment techniques and changing markets
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Dedication to excellence and outstanding character and reputation
  • Good relationship building skills - creativity, patience and persistence in identifying and pursuing new relationships as well as maintaining and deepening existing relationships
  • Solid understanding of the institutional business and client base
  • Appreciation of Investment Management industry sales processes / business methodologies
  • Competitor knowledge, including strengths and weaknesses and product range a plus
  • Ideally, the candidate should have a relevant investment management qualification (e.g. CFA, CAIA, etc) or seek to attain one. S/he should possess Series 7 and 63 licenses or be willing to attain them
