This Opportunity

Our Chicago office is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Portfolio and Asset Management group within our Private Debt business. We are looking for a self-starter, who is highly collaborative, analytical and has a strong interest in Real Estate.

The responsibilities of a Senior Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of real estate debt investments
  • Assist in preparation of, and monitor, annual business plans for the underlying real estate that serves as collateral for the debt investments
  • Ensure compliance with client investment management agreements
  • Review appraisals and valuations
  • Assess the current and projected performance of properties
  • Build a robust monitoring process with a focus on early warning and proper risk rating
  • Help prepare reports and documents that are presented to investment committee
  • Build relationships with sponsors/borrowers in tandem with the origination team


We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years of real estate debt experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting or real estate
  • Excellent communicator with strong writing skills
  • Well-organized, detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and handle ambiguity
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Able to operate in deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting
  • Proficiency in Argus, Word, Excel and Power Point
