This Opportunity

Our Chicago-based headquarters is seeking a talented, driven and people-focused Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP serves as a consultative and strategic partner to multiple, global business units within Heitman, and is responsible for delivering people-centric HR services, designing and executing processes and policies, managing global mobility and immigration, and helping ensure an overall positive experience for our colleagues. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required. Provides direct HR support to our leaders and teams across our ten global offices.

The responsibilities of the HRBP include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing HR consulting services and operational support to domestic and global business units, including senior leaders, in alignment with organizational strategies and goals.
  • Creating and analyzing business unit metrics and trends to recommend and develop solutions, programs and policies to improve and reach organizational goals, as well as to ensure an excellent employment experience for our colleagues.
  • Collaborating with HR peers in Organizational Development, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and DEI to oversee project work and to ensure cohesive delivery of HR programs and services to the client.
  • Partnering with leadership and the HR team to design, develop, communicate and implement key culture-building initiatives, employee engagement practices and talent building processes that support the overall business.
  • Owning Heitman’s global mobility and immigration program, including directly managing all ex-pat and immigration matters, selecting and working with outside counsel, and partnering with Finance regarding related tax matters.
  • Acting as Heitman’s Wellness Director to create and deliver programs and initiatives focused on the physical and mental health of our colleagues.
  • Providing HR expertise and advice in the successful resolution of employee and/or leadership concerns and issues.
  • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance including coaching, counseling, career development and employee relations.
  • Consistently keeping abreast of global trends and regulatory changes in the HR field, including but not limited to: employment law, immigration, compensation and benefits.
  • Managing all HR compliance related monitoring and reporting, including but not limited to EEOC, AAP and I-9 reporting.  Selecting and partnering with appropriate external vendors and internal stakeholders to establish HR compliance standards, meet regulatory obligations and to anticipate emerging trends.
  • Collaborating with our Client Service and Marketing team on reporting and client inquiries.

We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • 7-10 years of experience focused on building, developing and executing global HR programs
  • Excellent listening and empathy skills
  • Strong ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
  • Evidence of working collaboratively with other teams to influence colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – clear and organized thinking, an engaging personal style
