Property market research at Heitman is an integral part of the investment process and the focus of significant corporate resources. The department is used to:
- Target market and property-level investment opportunities
- Underwrite specific assets (for acquisition, hold/sell, and disposition)
- Frame investment strategies to capitalize on capital and property market opportunities
Members of the research staff are specialists in individual property types and in relevant disciplines (e.g., economic market trends, portfolio structuring). The group is assisted by the company analysts and portfolio managers of Heitman's public real estate securities group. They participate in all aspects of portfolio creation, asset management and sell decisions and average thirteen years of industry experience, including nine years with Heitman.
